My unbelievable holiday to Italy!-Rome, Sorrento and Amalfi coast

My first time in Rome was just amazing, from visiting the Colosseum to the Trevi fountain to travelling down south of Italy to Amalfi coast! What an experience…

Here’s my ultimate Rome travel guide!

I went on a school trip to Rome where we spend 5 nights travelling around the beautiful city of Italy. We spend 3 nights in Rome and 2 nights in Sorrento and Amalfi coast. One of my favourite places on this trip was Amalfi coast! The scenery was just breath-taking!

Even thought we didn’t spend long in Rome, We done a lot of walking for the time we were there, so make sure you bring comfortable shoes!

When visiting Rome there is some places that you can’t leave without seeing, such as Vatican, Sistine chapel  and Spanish steps.  Below is a picture of the Sistine Chapel.  The Sistine Chapel is a chapel in the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of the Pope. Michelangelo is considered one of the most famous artists of the Italian Renaissance.

No trip to Rome would be complete without seeing the Trevi Fountain! The tradition is to toss a few coins in, to ensure that one day you’ll return to the Eternal City.

One thing I will warn you off though, is that people drive very fast in Rome!

We also went to St Peter’s Basilica. The Colosseum is a must see while in Rome. The Colosseum is the largest amphitheater build during the Roman Empire. It offered Gladiator flights. It has over 2000 years of history which will bring you back in time to discover the way of life in the Roman days.

Our next part of our tour was Sorrento and Amalfi coast. This was a very long bus trip down the south of Italy as it nearly took four hours! But saying that it was well worth it!  Before we enjoyed the scenery of Amalfi coast though, we stopped off at Pompeii and climbed Mount Vesuvius.

Before climbing Mt. Vesuvius we stopped off at Pompeii.  Pompeii is located near the bay of Naples. Pompeii was buried under meters of ash after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. When my feet first touched the streets of Pompeii, it was like being transported back in time. Our guide led us on an in-depth exploration of the site that was buried by ash from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius (which is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world to this day).

All my classmates and I climbed Mt. Vesuvius. Mount Vesuvius is considered to be one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world because of its proximity to the city of Naples and the surrounding towns on the nearby slopes. Mt Vesuvius is the only active volcano in mainland Europe. It’s not a question of if it will erupt but when it will erupt which is quite scary if you think of it!!

After our trip to Pompeii we landed in Amalfi coast. Now this was my favourite part of our holiday! The scenery is just breath-taking. Amalfi coast has beautiful landscape lines with small towns between mountains and the sea. If you just visit this magical place for the scenery you will not be disappointed..
