Well if you’re like me you’ll need a list of essentials to bring on your adventures. Preparation is key. Like the saying goes, “fail to prepare, prepare to fail”. So, I’ve decided to blog my own essentials list to get you on the way to perfect packing!
- Passport
- Boarding Passes
- Keys (You don’t want to arrive home jet lagged and locked out of your house)
- Mobile Phone
- Any bookings you’ve made with a print me sign, or at least have written down some of reservation numbers
- Travel insurance details and any essential medicine on your person.
You don’t want to land in your destination and not have your tour tickets now do you?!
Money
This is an interesting one. If you’re travelling in the EU, Euro is the main currency but double check to make sure your destination is definitely in the Euro Zone. If you need to change currencies do some research as to how you will be charged the least commission. I normally look up www.xe.com and type in the currency I will need and get a guage of the exchange rate.
You’re options for changing money
- 1. Your own bank
- 2. A high street exchange shop
- 3. Use your bank card abroad
- 4. Change in the airport
- 5. Travellers cheques
Another thing to always bring and have charged up is your power bank. Many times I went on holidays without ones of these, which I instantly regretted. You could be on a tour and your battery going low and no power bank and want to capture pictures. I will definitely bring ones of these in the future!

Essential for most holidays and what I nearly always forget to bring is a travel adapter. I know you can get these in the airport but it’s better to be organised just in case your’re running late for your flight!

Another thing that is very easy to forget is that you cannot bring bottles of perfumes, deodorants, or aerosols cans through security, so you need to put them into 100ml bottles which are easily found in Penney’s!

It’s important to bring Id’s and health insurance card just so that you’re insured if your are injured abroad.
Other things to back is headphones, sunglasses, sun cream, reading glasses, book for reading, and travel pillow for long journeys.
